Letter From…
Thursday, June 19th, 2008…LA. At last back in LA after over a month travelling in Europe with stops in London, Ibiza, the Cote d’Azur, Monaco, and finally beautiful West Sussex. Since spending more time in the US I look now with foreign eyes at places I used to call home. Most striking is how incredibly expensive Europe is. It’s easy to spend $100 a day in London just on taxis. Dinner for two at an average London restaurant is $400. Driving a car into London and parking overnight would cost $150. My hotel room in France cost $1500 per night, for a room that would cost $300 tops anywhere in the US. And the service sucks! How do people afford these crazy prices?
