Songs For Sale
GTA is the musical incarnation of Gavin Thomas Aldred. Following a successful career in fashion (New Look), and art & design (Westzone Gallery/Aero London), Gavin created GTA to record and perform songs written by him over a period of 20 years. Three years in the making, from demos created at The Lab studio in the south of France with engineer Alex Smith, the debut album “Songs For Sale” is now on release. The album was recorded at Westland Studios in Dublin (U2, The Corrs, Van Morrison, Placebo) under the auspices of chief engineer Tim Martin (Terence Trent d’Arby, The Corrs, Van Morrison). The musicians, all top session players, were selected by co-producer Dave Browne, former front man of cult Irish rock band Picturehouse. The album was then mixed at the legendary Westlake Studio in Los Angeles (Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen et al) by Robbie Adams (U2, Christy Moore, Smashing Pumpkins, Waterboys, Blue).
A follow-up album is in production, and a number of demos and live recordings will be released quarterly. GTA are also working on collaborative projects to create bespoke music and aural environments for leading hotels and spas around the world.

Little Voice
My favourite song on a blinding debut album. The haunting guitar sound would make Knopfler weep, and sets another cinematic scene that lets the imagination run wild. Aldred and his gang have hoisted the bar to new heights for adult listening and that will have the kids peeking around the corner wanting to know what mum and dad are listening to. Good work fellas!

Songs have a mysterious power to transform our moods and help us make sense of our feelings. They can excite us, or calm us. They can inspire us. This is why I write songs. For Sunday Times Culture section readers all proceeds go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Sun Will Rise
I absolutely love this song. Really catchy and puts a spring me my step!
Seriously though, could be a definite hit.
Infact, I like most of them, Feel and Jupiter and Mars especially too.
I had the pleasure in seeing GTA live at the Royal Albert Hall. It was great.
When are you playing live again in London town??
